Project: Enhancing Protection for Internally Displaced Persons in Al-Jawf and Marib
Funded by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)
This project aims to strengthen the protection of internally displaced persons in Al-Jawf and Marib, particularly women and children who are among the most vulnerable in camp settings. It responds to the urgent needs of displaced communities who lack basic protection services and face multiple risks, including violence, lack of documentation, and limited access to legal and psychosocial support.
The project focuses on raising awareness of human rights, documenting violations, establishing a safe reporting mechanism, training volunteers in monitoring and referrals, and conducting regular field visits to follow up on protection cases and identify urgent needs.
Target groups include at-risk women, children, and displaced families living in Al-Rowaik and Al-Rayyan camps and surrounding areas. The project contributes to increasing awareness, improving access to protection services, and developing a community-based support network that promotes a safer and more dignified environment within the camps.
The project is implemented in coordination with the Protection Cluster, the Child Protection Sub-Cluster, local authorities, and humanitarian organizations operating in Al-Jawf and Marib.
